To wit
After two years at Valentine's Day 2008, Denis Chastel-Sauzet announces that the Windmill of Romanèche-Thorins is going to find its wings again. A big party gets ready to put the mill back in the wind, during the day of Moulins…
A unique area
We are in Southern Burgundy, in a country where the world fame asserted itself from the Middle Ages...
An ideal height, well exposed in the South, protected from wind by the powerful relief in the North, our vineyard enjoys the best situation that we can imagine in the whole Beaujolais region of "Moulin-à-vent".
Manganese veins: in some of our plots of land, the vine, very former, never forced, pushes its roots beyond eight meters deep, to go to feed on a vein of manganese and to give to the wine its particular character, its biological qualities so appreciated and so particular.
Chateau Portier et Domaine du Moulin à Vent.
Denis Chastel-Sauzet's vineyard is from Beaujolais's most renowned grape growing areas. He's with his family the ownership of the "Moulin à Vent", the famous historical monument which gift it name to the best "Cru du Beaujolais". The wine from Moulin à Vent is appreciated throughout the world.
An ideal altitude, a south exposition, and protected by a north wind; our vines from "appellation" Moulin à Vent, Fleurie, Chénas, Chiroubles and Beaujolais, have the best situation to produce the great wines.
